About

Bio

Art has been a large part of my life for as long as I can remember. I was always drawing on whatever paper that I had on hand: notes, scrap paper, the back of my homework, anything. Now I carry a sketchbook around all the time.

When drawing, I like to start in my sketchbook, working out really loose ideas that may or may not be used. If I want to finish it out, I transfer the image to whatever media I what to work in, whether it be mixed media paper, canvas, wood, or the computer.

My art has always been influenced by drawing what I see. I was the kid that took the "How to Draw" books, skipped all the steps, and looked at the finished product to draw. As I got older, I started looking more at how other artists drew and expressed their characters, studying their art and sometimes incorporating it into my own style. Recently, artists that influenced have me a lot are Ryota Murayama (the expressions of his characters), Andreas Preis (the geometric designs to his animals), and animations by Mike Inel (the character designs from "Missing Halloween") .
